Larvitar

Larvitar are part of the Reptile class. They have large heads and small limbs. Their extremedies are underdeveloped; arms, feet and tail have begun budding the digits and armored plating, but are still fused together. This actually helps Larvitar when it burrows, as its feet and claws form shovel-like shapes. Larvitar subsist mainly on soil.

Larvitar eggs have a gestation period of 95 days, approximately two weeks shorter than poke'mon of similar size (such as Dratini or Aaron eggs). Larvitar emerge premature but grow rapidly as they consume copious amounts of dirt. The intake of unlimited nutrients quickly compensates for the premature hatching date. Once Larvitar is completely engorged, it will fall into a deep sleep. Their appetites are so enormous that they have been known to change the landscape overnight. Once they reach their maximum feeding capacity, they change form into a stage that seems like a backwards transformation as their limbs retract and they become encased in a hard shell.

Larvitar are fond of cocoa powder because of its resemblance to dirt and approve of its bitter taste. Sprinkle some on poffins to give Larvitar a special treat.
