Kyogre

The Leviathan, Kyogre is depicted in ancient scripture. One of the three weather beasts, she belongs to the abyss. Her counterparts are Groudon, the expander and creator of continents, and Rayquaza, the Lord of air and skies. Scripture prophesizes that all three will be slain and consumed on judgement day.

It is stated that Kyogre and Groudon will meet again one day to battle, their duel threatening to destroy the world. Only then will Rayquaza descend from the skies to end the conflict.

Super quick sketch. I mixed the poke'mon history with the legend of leviathian, behemoth, and ziz from Hebrew scripture.

Modeled after one of my favorite animals, the Orca. The origin of the name "Orca" is from the roman "Orcus", the Roman king of the underworld, meaning "Belonging to the Kingdom of the Dead". Orcas are the only whales that kill other whales, labeling them as the bringer of death to their own kind... well, when they named 'em anyway. They're actually big ass dolphins.
